This one will focus on the Negotiations aspect of this course. Your submission will
be evaluated on following these simple instructions. This writing assignment will be based on When to Walk
Away from a Deal, Emotion and the Art of Negotiation, Nonverbal Communication in Negotiation, Control the
Negotiation Before It Begins, Negotiate in Three Dimensions, Get all the Interests Right, and Think Win-Win
from Covey’s 7 Habits (this one is posted on Moodle). Of course, these are all listed in your syllabus.
The assignment poses this scenario. You have been asked to write and direct an executive memo to the new
Director of Negotiations for your company. You have been asked to teach him/her the ropes. As indicated in
your syllabus, use the standard APA style (including a title page and one-and-a-half spacing between lines of
text) and two-page minimum length (maximum of four). Using these seven assigned readings, provide this new
employee with your best advice on how to develop into this position. I will be paying more attention to the APA
style of your citations for one, two, and more than two authors. I will be looking for references and citations
from at least five of the seven readings.
