- John has a problem with biting his fingernails. He bites the nails whenever he sees the white part of the nail that extends out at the end of the nail. Once he bites the white part off, he typically does not bite again until the nail grows and more white part shows. However, he also bites the nail when it is uneven or there is a rough edge from previous biting. The biting most often occurs when he is watching TV, at a movie, during lectures, or when he is studying.
Suggest a plan that will lead to a reduction in nail biting. Be advised that all aspects of the plan must be present to be eligible to receive full credit. Be advised that strategies are not the point of this part of the exam, but there are TWO that I am looking for as they relate specifically to the target behavior.
