Each student, alone or with one other person, will present their research to the class. This assignment is meant as a complimentary presentation to the subject matter of your final research paper.
Essentially you will facilitate the seminar for 10 minutes (with extra time for questions not included in the 10 minutes). As facilitators, it will be your job to guide the seminar, you may want to do a simple lecture or provide a different type of presentation. Your presentation should include some sort of interactive component whether it is simply students doing a reading ahead of time or a list of questions to consider. Ideally the materials should be made available one week ahead but at least a few days before your presentation. Any reading should be available as full text through the library or easily accessible for students in another form. I will set up a page under discussions in canvas for you to post the reading, media clip, youtube video…whatever you post that is relevant to your presentation.
Each presentation should outline the general themes and arguments of your proposed paper. You will be handing in the proposal and bibliography the day of your presentation so this should not be too difficult. Depending on when you present and how far along you are in your research you may include not only your thesis and purpose but also your findings – some of you will have only preliminary findings.

The presentation can be a simple lecture format, or can use film, video, acting, power point, or whatever medium suits your purpose. Please arrange with me any media needs you may have the week before your presentation.
Presentation Marking Criteria:
