For this Application Assignment, review the case study “The Case of Mrs. Hudson”  Consider the case study in terms of a culturally competent diagnosis. Think about the issues involved in culturally competent assessment and their impact on counseling.

The Assignment:

With the case study in mind, in a 2- to 3-page paper: Not including title and reference page

  • Develop a culturally relevant assessment of symptoms of the client in the case study. Focus on the concerns specific to Mrs. Hudson’s culture.
  • Summarize the major issues in conducting a culturally competent assessment and explain how they might affect the process and progress of counseling.
