In this writing assignment, you will explore the concepts of social awareness and empathy and their connection to effective leadership. Empathy includes being able to accept differences in others, even when disagreeing with their ideas and beliefs. Step 1 Choose the topic/issue you have experienced in the work setting. Step 2 Using scholarly sources, find an article(s) that discuss(es) the issue and its relationship to the workplace. Step 3 Write a two-page (500-word) paper addressing the following points:
- Describe why you selected the topic/issue/event.
- What were you feeling at the time you experienced this issue?
- Did you discuss your feelings with the co-worker/supervisor?
- How was the disagreement resolved?
- Any other thoughts you may want to include.
