Question

It is now a part of the general knowledge of the public that during the colonization of different countries of the world the process of colonization caused environmental and cultural harm to many native groups around the world today. In what ways does this continue to impact indigenous people today?

Thesis

Alaska’s colonial approach, including the deprivation of indigenous lands and resources, as well as the development of Western regulatory agencies to manage the use of culturally important natural resources, such as fish and oil, has in many ways served to marginalize indigenous interests within the needs of the United States.
