Code of Ethics for Nurses

 

Provision one, nurses’ practice with compassion and show respect to all the individuals. Provision two,

the nurses’ primary commitment is to the patient. Provision three, nurses strive to promote the health,

safety and rights of their patients. Provision four, nurses are responsible for individual nursing practice

and determine appropriate tasks for optimum patient care. Provision five, nurses are responsible for

preserving their integrity and safety, remaining competent and continuing their personal and

professional growth. Provision six, nurses participate in establishing, maintaining, and improving the

health care environment through individual and collective action. Provision seven, nurses participate in

advancement of their profession by contributing clinical, administrative and educational practices and

knowledge development. Provision eight, nurses collaborate with other health professionals and public

to meet the community, national and international health needs. Provision nine, the profession of

nursing is responsible for articulating nursing values for maintaining its integrity and for shaping social

policy.
