Please select a topic that you feel passionately about that you believe you can try to convince me to agree with you. This paper will have your personal belief statements in it, but will not be personal in the way you write it. You will use persuasive techniques to attempt to get me to agree with your opinions on a certain topic. You may select any topic that you feel would enhance the world, our school, or my life. You will use statement like: I believe…, It is understood that…, Many people think… (believe), Research proves that…, a large group of people agree that, Even though some people say that…there is a strong belief that
This is not a way to argue, but a way to give proof that your beliefs are backed up with research. You must use research, not personal belief statements to persuade me to agree with your thoughts. You will use this technique a lot in college and in the business world.
Use the graphic organizer (attached) to order your ideas. You will have a hook, a thesis, three main ideas and a restated thesis in your introductory paragraph, as normal. The paper must be NO LESS than 3 pages and NO MORE than 4. Each idea must have supporting evidence and be AT LEAST 2 paragraphs long. The conclusion paragraph will include your restated thesis, your three main ideas, and a final statement of something for me to think about.

How would you feel if someone told you that you could no longer go to church? Limiting the Constitutional right to bear arms would be wrong and would not be effective. In this paper I will discuss why it is safer for citizens to own guns. I believe that people should have the right to own guns because the Constitution of the United States grants us the right to own guns. Guns are not only used for the protection of individuals and their families, but they are also the main way some citizens provide food for their families. Efforts to restrict rights and create gun-free zones have created some of the highest gun violence rates in the United States.
I support the Second amendment right that people have the write to bear arms.
My three main points I have selected are:
1. Why people should own guns
2. The laws supporting gun ownership.
3. The gun free cities in the united state such as Chicago. How they are the gun death capital.
