Paraphrasing as a Scholar-Practitioner Essay

Paraphrasing as a Scholar-Practitioner Essay

Each research article you read contains key takeaways or main points that speak to the study’s findings or conclusions. Paraphrasing is a means to effectively use that research-based evidence without directly quoting. Because it is in your own words, the evidence can be more seamlessly integrated with the surrounding material, such as your own ideas and analysis.

This Assignment isolates the skill of paraphrasing so that you may give it significant attention. First, you select two main points from the same article you read last week. Then you paraphrase those main points using your own words and sentence structure. Plagiarism can be a concern if the paraphrase is too similar to the original, so be sure to compare your version to the original text as part of your process. To Prepare

Locate two paragraphs of the article that contain main points or key findings that you consider important. These are the areas that you will paraphrase  for your Assignment.

Using the template, paste into your paper two paragraphs from the article that represent the main points. Beneath each paragraph, write your original paraphrase of the content. Include appropriate APA citations for each paraphrase, and add a full reference entry for the article.

Then explain why you selected these as main points. How do these paragraphs represent important information from the article? Also describe your process of paraphrasing. How did you avoid accidental plagiarism?

Below are the Template and References for the article.

Paraphrasing Main Points – Instructions

Your first task for this Assignment is to determine what two main points stand out from the peer-reviewed article you read.

What Is a Main Point?

A main point:

  • Involves original research or conclusions by the authors of the article
  • Expresses the results of the study that was conducted
  • Answers the question, “What is the article about?”

What Is Not Considered a Main Point?

A main point is not:

  • The research question itself
  • An excerpt from the Literature Review or Background sections
  • A specific detail about the study’s methods. Responding to Research as a Scholar-Practitioner Essay

Where Are the Main Points Located?

The main points can usually be found in the Results/Findings and Discussion sections of an article rather than the preliminary sections. The Results/Findings and Discussion sections convey the outcome of the study and what conclusions the authors drew from the study. The research problem and purpose (sometimes included in a Problem Statement section) also reveal important information about the study.

Tip: If existing citations show up in the material you are quoting, you have chosen information from other authorsrather than your article’s authors. Instead, select quotes that are more representative of the article you read.

Explanation

In this section, explain why you selected the paragraphs as main points. How do these paragraphs represent important information from the article? Also describe your process of paraphrasing. How did you avoid accidental plagiarism?

The article I came across acknowledged that there is a need the social work and human service students should at all-time integratedoubleidentities. As service users, social work was found to havean essential gap, and the gap needs to be filled (Pulla & Schissel, 2017). It was necessary to ascertain the level of help the students and yeh experience they achieved via the exercise .the research was conducted on about  20 students. It mixed the past and the current in the service. Challengeswitnessed in the exercise or the profession arewhy students decided to study the discipline(Maheshkar, 2019). There were elements of positive and negative role modeling, which was mentioned by most of the past workers, and via the experience, they understood what to do and what they should avoid.

Some of the significant problems that were discussed in the article include the feat of being stigmatized .the people who were involved in the research fared disclosing most of the information tothe group or the peer for fear of being stigmatized or being subjected to some sort of discrimination (Pulla & Schissel, 2017). This was recorded and ascertained. Although there could be a positive outcome, they acknowledged thatthere could be positivity in the research, but they feared the likely results. Via the integration of the professionals and the persons, they can work hand in hand via the available instructors. They can quickly identify themselves and solve the challenges of an identity crisis. Responding to Research as a Scholar-Practitioner Essay

As an advanced human service professional practitioner, it is accurate and better to connect with the article since it is conclusive at all the two levels in professionalism and also in human service. I have the part-work with a  human service practitioner who consistently fails to touch on issues regarding their experience on issues about their mental health or the mentals state of theirpatients .some some of the notable reasonfor the failure to address such problems include the fear of being reprimanded after revealing the patient’sconfidentialinformation. It is known that the patient’s data must be handled with a lot of secrecy and confidentiality. Anotherreason could be due to the fear of their job security and also having a fear of the authority (Martin, 2019). The service can relyon history and plays a crucial role in uplifting and improving the quality of life of the patients. Silence should be discouraged at all costs since it could be serving as a way in which there can be a reinforcement of the stigmatization of various mental states. The researchers are advocating for a better way in which it is possible to integrate the identities and also having the services normalized. The experience can be attributed to being a reason for the success of both parties. The available barriers are responsible for shaping us and hence can have an adverse effect.

Based on past experience, it is true tosaythat an individual can be affected by benzodiazepine and elements of anxiety. It is true for individuals who are experienced in the human service approach when dealing with individuals with mental problems (Martin, 2019)..via the experience, and it is possible to explain effectively describe the challenges and the benefits of the approach, especially if there is appositive rapport created during dialogues.

Via the research,  it is true to say that there is a need to think and analyze the possibilities is of discussing the past service use and when still working in the profession. Iconsider the best way to do it to negate or eliminate the elements of stigma. Thelikely effect is to get the necessary assistance. Care must be taken in understanding the best way to revealing the information. Responding to Research as a Scholar-Practitioner Essay

Conclusion

There is aneed to becareful in disclosing some essential information since medical informationand history must be held with a lot of confidentiality. It is also vital that there should be attempts to reduce the anxiety. The research conducted must capture a large number of participants so as to have credibleresults. There is also a need to remain relevant and dynamic inadverse human service professional practitioners to be able to curb the challenges that might arise.
