As a public policy or public management major, think about your vision on your
own life for the community or society you are (will be) involved in and work for. Based on
that thought, write a mission statement of your own
TARGET AUDIENCE:Your audiences are yourself, and possibly your close friends, colleagues, family
members, or
general public with whom you want to share your motivation and vision.
OBJECTIVES
Practice using the three logical thinking tools to make your own mission statement.
This statement can be a guiding hand not only for your career in the near future, but also for
your lifetime paths.
The reason we call it “mission statement” rather than “vision statement” is that your vision is
a result of the analysis on how you can meet what is expected of you by yourself and the
world surrounding you.
o A job you will get in the future is the opportunity for you to contribute to anywhere
that needs you.
o Monetary reward you can aim at is the compensation for such your contribution.
It must be exciting to see how your mission statement change (or not) over time.
