Now that you have explored argumentative writing in several forms, it is time to put your skills to the test.
Choose to defend either the wife or Bisclavaret. You will need to examine the short story for examples of logos,
pathos, and ethos that will support your claim, and then you will need to write the closing argument for your
court case. Explain in detail who is the true monster and who is the betrayer.
Be sure to cite specific parts of the story that support your argument and show why your character should be
allowed to go free. You may want to revisit earlier lessons in this unit to review argumentative writing.
