**Research Question: What is the relationship between race and police perceptions? **
Purpose: draft survey questions and a sampling plan for course project.
1. Develop a sampling plan you will use to obtain your study sample (primarily college students/social media friends). In one paragraph, detail how you will solicit survey responses (i.e. share the survey to Facebook, Twitter, through email, Reddit, text friends and family, etc). Try to be as detailed as possible (I.e. I will share the survey in three Facebook posts and two tweets over the course of 2 weeks).
In 1-2 paragraphs, explain why you made these choices and specify the limitations of your sampling method (I.e why your sample will not be as representative as a Probability sample) and how these limitations may affect your results.
2. Survey Draft questions
Draft 3-8 survey questions aimed at answering your research question.
survey questions must be (clear, relevant, mutually exclusive and exhaustive, etc).
the majority of your questions should be closed-ended (have response choices) or partially closed-ended. You may ask open-ended questions if they are necessary, but limit these to 1-2 questions.
you MUST HAVE one or more questions that ONLY measure your independent variable(s).
you MUST HAVE one or more questions that ONLY measure your dependent variable(s)
if you believe, or know from prior research, that some characteristics might be associated with both your IV and DV, you may want to include questions about those characteristics in your survey.
you may also want to collect basic demographic information that might relate to your research question (e.g year in school, race/ethnicity, gender, if relevant).
*every question should have a purpose
