Using all of the information that you have collected on your research topic, write the first draft of your research paper.
Write an essay of at least 1000 words in which you take a position on an issue. In your paper, you should present an assertive thesis. The thesis should be
Explicit
Reasonably debatable (don’t assert the obvious)
Provable (not so debatable that it’s absurd).
The contents of your paper should all work toward making your case. Use quotes and examples from the sources to help prove your point, and demonstrate throughout the paper why your point is relevant.
You must cite at least three sources in your essay. Locate sources for your paper by conducting a search of the CSU librarys resources, including the librarys electronic databases. Sources found via a search of the World Wide Web are not allowed unless prior approval is given by the instructor. All sources used must be cited according to MLA documentation guidelines. At least one of the required sources should come from a peer-reviewed scholarly journal.
Use a word processor, such as Microsoft Word, to write your essay. Follow MLA style and format guidelines, double space, and use a standard 12-point font. Include a Works Cited page as the last page of your paper.
Essays should be well-organized, well-written, and well-developed. Proofread carefully to avoid grammar, punctuation, and other errors.
