Basically, you will choose any 8 terms and any 8 images from the powerpoints posted under Files–>All Powerpoints) and you will discuss each term using one of the following themesrace, gender and sexuality, religion, or class and socioeconomic status.
Terms: Choose JUST ONE theme and use it to discuss the eight terms with that single theme in mind. Remember, youll define the term in your own words (1 point) then discuss why you think it is relevant or why you think it matters related to the one theme you chose (4 points). Shoot for at least 5 sentences for each term.
Images: Choose any 8 of the images from the slideshows and again choose JUST ONE theme to discuss them using your own thoughts and experiences. One point for identifying the art movement and 4 points for your discussion. Shoot for at least 5 sentences per image.
Essay: As I told you in class, you will choose ONE of the following (try to make it no less than 250 words):
What do you think was the most significant historical event of the 20th Century? Why?
OR
What do you think was the most significant art movement of the 20th Century/ Why? Use an artwork from the movement to tie your discussion to.
*** The terms and images do not have to share the same themefor example, you can choose the theme of race for your terms and the theme of gender and sexuality for your images.
Just put your responses on a Word document and upload it under Assignments–>Final. I will not make it available until April 20 because I dont know exactly how far well make it in the next 3 weeks. You can prepare some of them now, of course, and others as we go along so it wont be too much at the end. Watch the video for further detail, and let me know if you have any questions!
