WIC program would benefit the eligible participants. The program would offer benefit to the infant and to the mother. For example, the WIC program would reduce fetal deaths as well as infant mortality. WIC program would improve the growth of nutritionally at-risk children within ages 0-5.

WIC program was created as a 2-year pilot project. WIC program was developed during a period of growing public concern regarding malnutrition amongst low-income women and new mothers. WIC program meets its intent and objectives that included enhancing outreach to reach all eligible participants, where the main focus was on pregnant women and new mothers and infants (Jacknowitz et al., 2007).

I would recommend the implementation of the WIC program in my place of work. WIC program would help to provide information on healthy eating as well as breastfeeding on my colleagues. Also, this program would be of great importance to pregnant women in my place of work and how they can cater to their unborn and infants in the right manner.

As a nurse advocate, I would be involved in evaluating the WIC program in different ways. I would be engaged in educating as well as providing peer counseling to breastfeeding and also connecting families to medical cares. I would be involved in encouraging prenatal care for pregnant women.

| General Notes/Comments | WIC was important to pregnant women and new mothers. The government would consider this program back by changing their spending priorities towards helping and growing programs such as WIC. This was smart spending without wastage.
